HANDICRAFTS AT KIDS FASHION - MODE ENFANTINE FAIR IN BRUSSELS 25

Kids Fashion
- Mode Enfantine Fair will be held in Brussels, on 25 & 26th
of June. It will be attended by participants from most of the European
countries, Japan, USA, Brazil and India.
Bosnia and Herzegovina will be represented by NGO Bosnian
Handicrafts. The significance of the fair is visible from the fact
that specialized companies for production of children clothing such
as - Converse - Kids, Hello Kitty Italy, Les Petites, Naf Naf Kids
and many others will be represented on it. Bosnian
Handicrafts will present a new collection Spring/Summer 2006/2007,
which consists of handmade clothing items and accessories for children.
It is important to emphasize that development of the collection
and participation at the fair is financed by European Union within
the project "Centre for transfer of traditional craft skills", and
that Bosnian Handicrafts is the only organization from the former
Yugoslavia exhibiting at this prestigious fair. Around 150 exhibitors
and a large number of visitors are expected to visit the fair during
2 days.
The Center's
HQ is in Tuzla, and it is working towards strengthening SMEs from
NE BiH which are producing handicrafts. Within this mission the
Centre provides a variety of services starting with design services,
product development, market research, marketing services on domestic
and foreign market, training programs for employees of small and
medium enterprises and their end beneficiaries - craft producers.
A special part of the project includes development of a unique line
of souvenirs which will significantly improve the tourist offer
of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
NGO "Bosnian Handicrafts" is gathering more then five
hundred women from both BiH entities, which have been, for almost
ten years, successfully crafting clothing and decoration items using
the traditional skills of knitting, crocheting and weaving techniques
which made Bosnian handicrafts recognized and appreciated all over
the world. The quality and recognition of Bosnian handicrafts is also
proven by support of the big BiH companies, such as:
Bosnalijek, Pliva, UMEL Dalekovodmontaza, Raiffeisen Bank, Raiffiesen
Osiguranje Uniqa Group Austria, Hidria, Flash Production and many
others who are buying "Bosnian handicrafts" for their business partners. We hope that BH ambassadors and
state delegations will follow their example, and by giving away
these unique presents to their associates and partners abroad, represent
Bosnia and Herzegovina as a modern state, one that cherishes its
own tradition.
